These inviting white and dark chocolate cookies are not only interesting-looking, they are crisp and fun to serve and eat.

  • Servings: 3 doz
  • Prep Time: 40 min + chilling time
  • Cook Time: 10-12 min
  • Total Time: 1 hr

1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
2 oz White Chocolate, coarsely chopped
¼ cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
3 cups Flour
1½ tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Cocoa Powder
¼ tsp Salt

Cream butter, gradually adding sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Divide in half, placing in separate bowls. Melt white and dark chocolate in separate bowls in microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring as it melts. Stir white chocolate into one of the bowls with the creamed mixture; stirring the dark chocolate into the other bowl. Combine flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Stir 1-1/2 cups flour mixture into each of the chocolate bowls. Cover and chill 30 minutes. On floured wax paper roll each dough separately into a 15x8" rectangle. Carefully invert white dough onto chocolate dough. Tightly roll up, jellyroll fashion, starting at the long end, peeling wax paper from dough as you roll. Cover and chill 1 hour. Slice dough into 1/4" slices and place on an un-greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Helpful Tips:

Inverting one dough on top of the other is a little tricky, but even if it doesn't look perfect, once you roll them up together it will turn out OK. These cookies are worth the effort.
