Nut Butter Balls

These nutty cookies are buttery and tender. Choose almond or vanilla extract to flavor the cookie.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp almond or vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 to 2 cups finely chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- Powdered sugar

Method
Mix butter with sugar till creamy. Add salt, extract, flour, and nuts. Mix well. Chill dough till easy to handle. Using fingers shape into logs or balls. Bake at 350 on ungreased cookie sheet 12 to 15 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
Notes: Great for an appetizer or for snacking during the holidays. Or sitting by the fire on a cold winter night.
