Irresistible Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut butter cookie dough made with shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and flour, dropped and flattened with a fork in a criss-cross pattern.
 

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C. Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 C. Crisco
  • 1 1/4 C. Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Tbls. Milk
  • 1 Tbls. Vanilla
  • 1 3/4 C. Flour
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda

Method

1. Heat oven to 375F. Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies. 2. Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat just until blended. 3. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture beating at low speed. Mix just until blended. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly in crisscross pattern with tines of fork. 4. Bake at 375F for 7 to 8 minutes, or until set and just beginning to brown. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to foil to cool completely.
