Hawaiian Christmas Cookies

These cookies are have cinnamon, allspice and cloves. The macadamia nuts and coconut along with the guava glaze really make these a Hawaiian treat.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 cup shredded and chopped coconut
- 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- Guava Glaze:
- 1 cup guava nectar
- 1/2 cup sugar

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice and cloves then mix well. Using a mixer, beat butter in a large mixing bowl until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar then mix together until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla extract and lemon juice. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix well. Fold in coconut and macadamia nuts and mix by hand until well combined. For best results, chill dough 6 hours before baking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a 1/4 cup scoop, portion out dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, placing scoops 2 inches apart. Bake 15-17 minutes, or until edges are golden brown, but centers are still slightly soft. Remove cookie sheet from oven and transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool 10 minutes. In a small saucepan over medium high heat, add guava nectar and sugar, then reduce by half. Drizzle glaze over cookies.
