Method

Cream butter & sugars in large mixer bowl. Add water, then eggs--one at a time. Add nutmeg and vanilla. Add flour one cup at a time at low speed until dough forms. Divide into 3 flattened balls (disks); wrap each in plastic wrap, then chill at least 2 hours. Can be premade and chilled up to 1 month. Let dough stand at room temperature for a few minutes for easier rolling. Dust the work surface lightly with flour and roll out disks of dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Let cookies cool completely on wire rack and frost using canned frosting. Decorate as desired.

Notes: These are truly addicting and can also be used for Valentine's Day as a heart shaped cookie.

Number of Servings: about 8 dozen
