Grandma Darline's Chocolate Drops
Make the vanilla butter icing for these chocolate drop cookies and let the kids frost them. They make great Christmas cookies to give to your friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup sugar 1 egg
- 2 oz melted unsweetened chocolate (cooled)
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup lour
- 1/2 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp salt

Method
Mix butter, egg, sugar, chocolate, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in flour, soda, and salt. Chill one hour. Heat oven to 400F. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2" apart on un-greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Vanilla butter icing: Blend 1/4 cup soft butter and 2 cups powdered sugar. stir in 1 tsp vanilla and about 2 tbsp light cream.
