Giant Valentine Cookie
This giant Valentines Day cookie is baked in a heart-shaped pan. It contains butter, brown and granulated sugars, egg, and chocolate chips, and is frosting with melted chocolate chips after baking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plus 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick), softened
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large egg
- 1 3/4 cups Chocolate chips, divided Decorator icing (in tubes, optional)

Preheat oven to 375 F. Grease and wax paper-line an 8 1/2- or 9-inch heart-shaped pan. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup of the chips; spread in prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely. Microwave remaining chips in small, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power about 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth; spread over cookie. Decorate with icing.
