German Chocolate Toffee Cookies

1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Shortening
2 1/ 2
Cup Sugar
½ cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 pkg (4 Oz.) German Sweet Chocolate, melted and cooled
4 Eggs
2 tsp Water
2 tsp Vanilla
6½ cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Soda
1½ tsp Salt
1½ cups English Toffee Bits or Almond Brickle Chips
1½ cups Chopped Walnuts


In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and both of the sugars until light and fluffy.

Beat in the chocolate

Add the eggs, one at a time

Beat well after each addition

Beat in the water and vanilla

Combine the flour, baking soda, and the salt

Gradually add to the creamed mixture

Stir in the toffee bits and the walnuts

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets

Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown

Remove to wire racks to cool
