Deanna's Prize-Winning Brownies

The batter for these lucious brownies is made with cocoa powder, sprinkled with chocolate chips, and drizzled with chocolate syrup before baking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons (skim) milk
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chocolate syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 13" baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cocoa, flour, baking powder, salt, milk and mix well. Mixture will be thick. Spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle chips over batter. Drizzle chocolate syrup over chips. Bake about 22 minutes. Remove and let cool on wire rack for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Notes: These are terrific served slightly warm, but they also pack well in a lunch box.
