A dousing of butter, brown sugar, chocolate chips and nuts make this oh-so-simple dessert a special Christmas treat.

  • Servings: 12

Butter Crackers
1 cup Butter
1 cup Light Brown Sugar
12 oz Milk Chocolate Chips
Chopped Almonds or Nuts
Sprinkle of Salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover a cookie sheet with foil and spray with cooking oil. Line cookie sheet with crackers, breaking pieces of crackers to fit entire pan, then set aside. In a small saucepan, melt butter and add brown sugar. Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour sugar and butter mixture over crackers and spread if necessary. Bake 5 minutes then remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let sit 2-3 minutes until soft. Spread chocolate with a knife or spatula until entire pan is covered well. Place back in oven to warm if it doesn't spread easily. Sprinkle chopped nuts all over pan, and add a sprinkle of salt. Allow to cool completely then cut into pieces. Or place in the freezer to speed up the process, and use a pizza cutter to cut into pieces.
