Chocolate Christmas Cookies

Cookies with four ingredients-what could be easier? Just grab cake mix, whipped topping and egg, prepare the dough, drop in powdered sugar and bake.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. 2-layer-size Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 2 1/4 cups frozen Extra Creamy whipped dessert topping, partially thawed
  • 1 egg
  • Powdered sugar

Method

With electric mixer at medium to high speed, mix cake mix, whipped topping, and egg until well blended. Drop by spoonfuls into powdered sugar in a shallow dish; roll to coat well. Place on ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Remove and cool on wire racks.

Notes: The mixture will be really thick and gooey. Use a regular spoon to drop them into powdered sugar and fully coat. The powdered sugar will make it easier to shape cookies into balls.(Don't worry the cookies don't have to be perfectly rounded, just make sure they are coated liberally with powdered sugar) These cookies are my families favorite Christmas cookie- hands down. I like them because they are pretty easy to make without a lot of ingredients to buy.

Number of servings: about 3 dozen
