Chocolate coconut drops

Chewy chocolate confections with coconut that are a snap to make.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 square (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1-1/2 cups shredded coconut
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method
Put sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and salt in top of double boiler. Cook over rapidly boiling water, stirring often until thick [about 10 minutes].* Remove from heat and stir in coconut and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfulls on well greased baking sheet 1 inch apart. Bake in moderate oven [350 F.] 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from pan at once. *A microwave oven could be used for this process; watching carefully at perhaps 50% power.
