Chip Surprise Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies with a few surprising additions-dates, cranberries and nuts.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 6 oz white chocolate chips
- 6 oz milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped dates
- 3/4 cup chopped fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease two baking sheets. In a large mixing bowl mix sugar, brown sugar, butter, margarine, and eggs. Cream it together until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and mix well. Add the chips, dates, cranberries, and vanilla lightly fold until it is all mixed. Spoon about 6 to 8 cookies on each baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until they are golden brown. When done let stand for about 10 to 12 seconds before removimg cookies to a cooling rack.
Notes: You may use whatever nuts you prefer.
Number of Servings: about 3 1/2 dozen
