Don't overbake these chewy chocolate yummy cookies. They have a double dose of chocolate from the cocoa and chocolate pieces.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture using low speed on mixture. Stir in chips with a wooden spoon. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling. Cool slightly on cookie sheet; remove from sheet onto wire rack to cool completely.
