Berry Delightful Bars

These blonde brownies have colorful pieces of chopped fresh cranberries and plenty of crunchy walnuts.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coarsley chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup coarsley chopped fresh cranberries

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla; mix well. Sift dry ingredients together into a small bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until just mixed. Fold in nuts and cranberries; do not overmix. Pour into a 9x13-inch cake pan. Bake 25 to 35 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting to serve.

 

Notes: Our family loves these tart and chewy brownies! They are a favorite treat during the holiday season.
